VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Inclusive Development of the National Economy: Global Trends, Opportunities for Ukraine and the Role of the Agri-Food Sector, Experience and Cooperation with the EU” within the framework of the Erasmus+ project (23-24.10.2024, online)
On October 23-24, 2024, the staff of the Department of Production and Investment Management held the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Inclusive Development of the National Economy: Global Trends, Opportunities for Ukraine and the Role of the Agro-Food Sector, Experience and Cooperation with the EU”. The event was held within the framework of the European Union Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project “EU Practices of Social and Economic Inclusion”.
The event was organized by the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Faculty of Agricultural Management, Department of Production and Investment Management with the participation of the International University of Sarajevo (Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina), European Institute of Further Education (Podhájska, Slovakia), Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas, Lithuania), Purdue University (Purdue, USA), and the University of Haifa (Haifa, Israel).
More than 115 scientists, postgraduates, first- and fourth-year students, master’s students, as well as practitioners from Ukraine and foreign countries who are actively engaged in research in the field of economic sciences from different cities of Ukraine (Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zhytomyr etc.) joined the event.
The greeting of the project manager of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, Jean Monnet Program Curator, Petro KRAINIK, who greeted the project team and participants of the conference and noted the importance of studying economic inclusion in the project, as this approach is one of the first among Ukrainian universities. According to Petro KRAINIK, in the context of Ukraine’s European integration, it is extremely important to understand inclusiveness in direct connection with European values.
Oksana Tonkha, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of the National University of Life Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. Oksana Tonkha thanked Lidiia Shynkaruk, project manager of the Jean Monnet Module “Practices of Socio-Economic Inclusion in the EU,” and the working group of project implementers.

Podhajska, Natalia VENGERSKA, Lecturer in Business and Economics at the Liverpool John Moores International Centre, Associate Professor of International Economics, Natural Resources and International Tourism Economics at Zaporizhzhia National University, Victoria SMESOVA, Professor of Tourism and Business Economics at the National Technical University “Dnipro Polytechnic” and others.
The speakers focused on such topical issues as: peculiarities and risks of inclusive development of Ukraine in the context of war, EU experience and mechanisms for ensuring inclusive development of the agri-food sector and food security, opportunities for inclusive development of the Ukrainian economy and implementation of the EU experience, socio-economic factors of inclusive development: EU experience and opportunities for Ukraine.
