International Conference “PROFESSIONALISM OF A TEACHER UNDER EUROPEAN DIGITAL INNOVATIONS” (16-17.05.2023, online)
On May 16-17, 2023, the Сonference “PROFESSIONALISM OF A TEACHER UNDER EUROPEAN DIGITAL INNOVATIONS” was held. The event took place within the framework of the implementation of Jean Monet Module of the European Union Erasmus+ Program ”Ukraine – EU: intercultural communication in education” (620354-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE).
The conference was organised by Donbas State Pedagogical University in cooperation with Mykhailo Drahomanov Ukrainian State University, Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi State Pedagogical University, Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohienko National University, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University, with the participation of the Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica (Slovakia), the Polonia Center of the University of Rzeszów, Rzeszów (Poland) and the International Academy of Informatization, Almaty (Kazakhstan), and with the support of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine.
The event was attended by more than 100 researchers and bachelor, master and PhD students, staff of secondary education institutions, specialists of postgraduate education institutes from various universities and cities of Ukraine: Kyiv, Dnipro, Sloviansk, Vinnytsia , Kamianets-Podilskyi, Luhansk, Kharkiv, etc.
During the event, on May 16, 2023, the speakers presented their reports: Liudmyla HAVRILOVA – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Primary Education Theory and Practice of Donbas State Pedagogical University; Iryna SIKORSKA – Candidate of Sciences in Public Administration, PhD in Sociology (UniSA, Italy), Head of the Board of the Ukrainian Association of Professors and Researchers of European Integration, a member of the National Team of Experts on Higher Education Reform Erasmus+ (HERE Team), head of the Center for International Education, Mariupol State University; Nataliia BAKHMAT – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Theory and Methods of Primary Education, Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohienko National University; Svitlana SHEKHAVTSOVA – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Department of Slavic Languages, Faculty of Arts, Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica; Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Poltava, Ukraine; Kateryna Yurieva – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Musical Art of H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University; Olha LUKIANCHENKO – Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Primary Education, Pedagogical Faculty of Mykhailo Drahomanov Ukrainian State University; Olena BESKORSA – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Primary Education Theory and Practice of Donbas State Pedagogical University, research fellow of the Karl and Franz University of Graz (Graz, Austria); Olena KOLHAN – Head of the Ukrainian-Polish International Center for Education and Science, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature; Olena DEMCHENKO – Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Primary Education, Dean of the Faculty of Preschool and Primary Education named after Valentina Voloshina, Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsiubinskyi State Pedagogical University.
The representative of the National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine welcomed the participants of the conference and focused their attention on the challenges in the digitalization of education, the relevance of the project topic and the importance of training teachers in the use of digital innovations and online tools, quality assurance and dissemination of project results, cooperation with other Jean Monnet projects and ensuring synergy, exchange of learning experience and dissemination of European studies in Ukraine.
The speakers focused on such key issues as: the intercultural dimension of the internationalisation of higher education in Ukraine, artificial intelligence in education, the international contingent of university students as an educational resource, intercultural education as a way to the European future of Ukraine.

Project objective and specific tasks:
- introducing of the course “Intercultural Communication Studies” into the curriculum of future primary school teachers’ training at SHEI DSPU for preparing today’s Ukrainian youth for diplomatic interaction, reaching mutual understanding, avoiding barriers in communication;
- promoting the integration of young people into the world and European youth community;
- enhancing a tendency towards a high quality of life – factors that can develop positive attitude to Ukraine’s EU integration;
- influencing the development of the high patriotism among the young generation representatives and developing their active citizenship.
