Ukrainian universities won a record 90 Jean Monnet European integration projects within EUs Erasmus+ Programme
According to information from Ukrainian universities, the European Commission has already started announcing the winners of Erasmus+ projects within Jean Monnet Action. As of now, out of 465 submitted projects with the participation of Ukraine, 90 Jean Monnet projects have been selected for funding, of which 88 are coordinated by 45 universities from Ukraine: 82 Modules, 5 Chairs and 1 Center of Excellence. 4 Ukrainian HEIs are also partners in 2 Jean Monnet Networks in Higher Education.
Jean Monnet Actions focus on teaching, learning, research, and debates on various aspects of the European Union and EU integration. It will hence help empower a new generation of European integrators from the academic sphere who will support Ukraine on its path as aa candidate for EU membership.
Starting from September – October 2023, 48 higher education institutions of from different cities of Ukraine, in particular: Cherkassy, Chernihiv, Chernivtsi, Dnipro, Irpin, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, Kyiv, Lutsk, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Ostrog, Poltava, Sumy, Ternopil, Uzhhorod, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr will start the implementation of new Jean Monet projects. Sumy State University received a record number of 13 projects, Lviv Polytechnic National University – 5 projects, Zaporizhzhya National University, Dnipro University of Technology, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, National University of Ostroh Academy, Taras Shevchenko National University Chernihiv Colehium, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics – 3 projects each. In addition, Koretsky State and Law Institute of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Kharkiv and Private Institution University Kyiv School of Economics are among “newcomers”.
