Webinar “Higher Education Leadership for Democracy, Sustainability and Social Justice” (25.01.2024, online)
On January 25, 2024, the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine team participated in the webinar “Higher Education Leadership for Democracy, Sustainability and Social Justice”, organised by the Council of Europe as part of their Higher Education Series. This webinar marked the launch of the book “Higher Education Leadership for Democracy, Sustainability and Social Justice”, which is the 26th volume in this series.
Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, coordinator of the National Erasmus+ office – Ukraine, joined the webinar to disseminate thematic information among higher education institutions on issues of leadership in higher education, university autonomy, and more within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme. NEO’s coordinator also emphasised the importance of international cooperation and the exchange of experiences within the Erasmus+ Programme.
The book, resulting from the forum, compiles chapters from authors from Europe, the USA, Latin America, Australia, and South Africa. The authors agree and collectively assert that higher education should influence the development of attitudes, values, and skills that individuals use to shape societies. Higher education plays a key role today and tomorrow as a leader in society, and this leadership will be borne from the steps taken within the higher education community for the greater common good.
This webinar marked the launch of this significant publication; authors presented their viewpoints, and a discussion with the participants followed. The book is available in open access via the link.
