Opening of the thematic cabinet within the framework of the European Union Erasmus+ project Jean Monnet / EVUESS module (18.12.2024, Chernivtsi)
On 18 December, 2024, the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University hosted the grand opening of the thematic cabinet within the framework of the European Union Erasmus+ project Jean Monnet module “Integration of European Values into Ukrainian Education, Science and Sport / EVUESS.”
The honorable mission of cutting the ribbon was performed by the Rector of the University, Professor Ruslan Biloskurskyi, the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Rehabilitation, Professor Yuriy Moseichuk, and a member of the project team, Professor Yaroslav Zoriy. The event was attended by faculty members, students participating in the module, Head of the Planning and Financial Department Natalia Kobitovych, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Oksana Kyselytsia, Heads of Departments Professor Anna Hakman and Associate Professor Ivan Vaskan, and Professor Yan Kapranov.
Ruslan Biloskurskyi emphasized that European integration is a strategic direction for the university and Ukraine, and such initiatives allow the integrating of European values into the system of education, science, and sports. He emphasized that the university always supports innovative projects that help create a modern educational environment. Yuriy Moseychuk noted that the opening of the thematic room at the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports, and Rehabilitation will help improve the educational process and provide students and teachers with resources for educational, scientific, and international events.
The project coordinator, Associate Professor Yaroslav Galan, presented the key developments made during the first year of the module. He shared the successes of the events, lectures, and conferences held and outlined plans for the next year, which include further development of the training platform, organization of summer and winter schools, and development of recommendations for the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
The office will become a center for the implementation of Jean Monnet module activities and a platform for the implementation of European values in the educational process of students. This place will facilitate not only learning but also the development of discussion clubs, roundtables, and the creation of new innovative projects.
The Erasmus+ project Jean Monnet module is important for Ukraine’s integration into the European educational space. It helps to form a new generation of Ukrainians who profess European values and understand the importance of human rights, democracy, gender equality, and environmental awareness. The opening of the thematic office is another example of how we are working together to bring the future closer, where Ukraine takes its rightful place among European countries.
