European Commission publication highlights Erasmus+ contribution to Ukraine’s resilience and human capital development

The European Commission published a new publication entitled “Learning, Connecting, Rebuilding”, highlighting the contribution of the EU Erasmus+ Programme to supporting Ukraine, strengthening human capital, and fostering resilience and recovery of the education sector during the war.

The publication presents 20 projects demonstrating the practical impact of Erasmus+ across higher education, vocational education and training, school education, adult learning, youth, and sport. The focus is placed on supporting students, educators, educational institutions, and partnerships that continue to operate and develop despite the challenges caused by Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

According to the European Commission, since 2022 more than 52,000 Ukrainians have participated in Erasmus+ mobility activities, while over €210 million has been mobilised to support projects involving Ukrainian organisations and participants.

The projects featured in the publication contribute to the continuation of studies and professional development, as well as capacity building in key sectors such as healthcare, energy, and digital education. Particular attention is given to inclusion, social resilience, skills development for recovery and reconstruction, and support for Ukraine’s European integration.

The European Commission emphasises that these project success stories should inspire future applicants and contribute to further strengthening international cooperation within the EU Erasmus+ Programme.
