Education moves the world: the annual educational conference ‘SERPNEVA-2025’ took place (21.08.2025, Kyiv)
On August 21, 2025, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine held the annual educational conference ‘SERPNEVA-2025’ in Kyiv. The event brought together over 500 in-person participants and more than 5,000 online – educators, government officials, and representatives of international and civil society organisations.
This year’s focus was on education as a cornerstone of national resilience, highlighting curriculum reform, learning space modernisation, and teacher development tailored to current challenges.
Key Areas Discussed:
- Curriculum: “Education for Life” policy, updated sectoral concepts, pilot profile high schools in 30 lyceums, vocational and pre-tertiary education transformation.
- Teacher: addressing teachers’ mental health, new early childhood education standards, “money follows the teacher” funding model, digitalisation of processes.
- Learning Space: investment in shelters, laboratories, mobile kindergartens, and career guidance infrastructure.
Special attention was given to inclusion, mental health, digital transformation, and ensuring a safe and accessible educational environment for every child.
Opening remarks were delivered by Prime Minister Yulia SVYRYDENKO, First Lady Olena ZELENSKA, and Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen LISOVYI.
The event was supported by international partners, including the Swiss-Ukrainian DECIDE and EdUP projects, UNICEF, and the EGAP Programme.
