Information session on opportunities to participate in the Erasmus+ Programme as part of the strategic session “Ukraine-Africa Horizon 2030: Designing the Future of International Academic Cooperation” (26.05.2026, Kyiv)
On May 26, 2026, the team from the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine took part in the strategic session “Ukraine-Africa Horizon 2030: Designing the Future of International Academic Cooperation”, held at the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in Kyiv .
The event brought together representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, higher education institutions, the diplomatic corps, international organisations, the student community, and representatives of African organisations in Ukraine to discuss prospects for the development of international academic cooperation between Ukraine and African countries .
The strategic session focused on the development of international partnerships, the internationalisation of higher education, the expansion of academic mobility, and strengthening cooperation between universities in Ukraine and African countries. The programme also included open discussions, plenary sessions, and exchanges on future formats of cooperation in education, research, and international partnership development .
Particular attention was paid to the opportunities offered by the EU Erasmus+ Programme for international academic cooperation. Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, presented opportunities for Ukrainian higher education institutions to participate in Erasmus+, including International Credit Mobility, cooperation partnerships, and Capacity Building in Higher Education projects. The presentation highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation with African countries within the international dimension of Erasmus+ and expanding global academic partnerships .
Participants also discussed the prospects for establishing a long-term dialogue platform between Ukraine and African countries in the fields of education, research, youth policy, and human capital development .
