MSCA4Ukraine Advisory Board Meeting (08.03.2023)

On 8 March 2023, the Advisory Board Meeting of the Programme MSCA4Ukraine was organised. As part of the EU’s response to the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine, MSCA4Ukraine provides support to displaced researchers from Ukraine. Funded by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, this dedicated fellowship scheme will enable displaced researchers to continue their work at academic and non-academic organisations in EU member states and Horizon Europe associated countries, while maintaining their connections to research and innovation communities in Ukraine. The scheme may also facilitate researchers’ reintegration in Ukraine if conditions for safe return are met, in order to prevent permanent brain drain, and contribute to strengthening the Ukrainian university and research sector and collaboration and exchange with the international research community.

The MSCA4Ukraine scheme will provide an important EU response to the current emergency while demonstrating the EU’s core principles of academic freedom and freedom of scientific research.

Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, NEO – Ukraine Coordinator, joined the meeting with sessions on Introductions of advisory board members; Brief overview of MSCA4Ukraine scheme & role of advisory board (SAR Europe); Update on Selection Committee results (AvH); Discussion of fundraising and assistance for unsuccessful applicants.
