The Jean Monnet Project “Academy of EU Studies for School and University Students” aims at creating a collaboration of pupils (9-11 grades) and students for active EU Studies. The Academy consists of Spring educational session «Who and how makes the decisions in the European Union» (2 days, 59 participants) and Summer educational session «European Union Social Policy» (2.5 days, 62 participants). During the sessions, there are interactive lectures, trainings, role-play “EU decision-making”, drafting of the EU Social Policy Bill, development and launching of social advertising (based on the principles of the European Social Model). During the studies, students create The Final Projects of School and University Students in EU Studies (film, perfomance, political magazine, interactive presentation), which will be a non-standard information or educational product on EU topics. Two academic subjects will be taught during the project implementation. The “Lessons about the European Union” for school students of grades 9-11 in schools of the city of Mykolayiv and Mykolayiv region. The discipline “Historical and Legal Background of EU Integration Processes” for BA students in Public Administration. Number of students per academic year 100. A Virtual Learning Platform “EU Studies for School and University Students” will be created for better learning of students. It will consist of programs, lesson plans, tasks, text and video materials, documents to prepare students for courses. Students can download assignments and test papers for review by the teachers and see the grade in their personal account on the virtual platform. The project will contribute to the widespread study of the European Union in the school and university environment and in society generally. It will also allow the interaction of the younger generations of the Mykolayiv region in order to achieve common goals.
