Presentations for International Erasmus+ Information Day (Kyiv 15.11.2016)

November 15, 2016 in the famework of the National Week of Erasmus+ Programme in Ukraine, National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine (EU-funded project) and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in close cooperation with the EU Delegation to Ukraine, the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (Brussels, Belgium), under organizational support of the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine performed the International Information Day of European Union Programme Erasmus+ in the field of higher education.

More then 285 representatives of HEIs of Ukraine (research institutions, NGOs and other representatives interested in preparing projects on modernizing higher education and training) learnt about Erasmus+ Programme structure and opportunities in higher education; rules for the participation under Key Action «Capacity Building of Higher Education» – CBHE (former Tempus) and Jean Monnet; recommendations on the preparation of successful project proposals; priorities for cooperation with universities in different countries.

Vira RYBAK, Coordinator of Education, Science and Technology and Information Society Sector of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, highlighted the importance of strengthening new and existing partnerships among Ukrainian and European Universities. The speaker pointed out high need for results dissemination outside project teams to contribute to the quality of higher education system development in Ukraine.

Nadiya VERTEBNA, member of The Support Group for Ukraine under European Commission, focused on requirement fundamental changes in Ukrainian universities towards European Higher Education Area with the help of Erasmus+. As a result, project implementation will provide additional opportunities for capacity building of HEIs and higher education system in Ukraine.

Olga BORYSOVA, Vice-Rector of National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine, informed all participants about the experience of international cooperation of university and underlined its openness to projects with new partners from Programme and Partner Countries.

Anna NOVOSAD, Head of International Cooperation and European Integration Department of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, in her presentation highlighted aspects for successful cooperation with international partners in the context of higher education reforms: curriculum development, improving quality of education&teaching, improving management&operation of universities, joint innovative programs, improving research capacities of HEIs, internationalization, establishing students’ links to the labor market; cooperation with business and others.

Gulia MORO, Unit Erasmus+ Capacity Building, and Joanna Maria PESCH-KONOPKA, Unit Erasmus+ Jean Monnet, introduced international dimension for Erasmus+ Key Actions, cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices. In their presentations, they specified novelties, practical guidelines for successful project proposals and gave recommendations on partnership strengthening, financial management, reporting and criteria for successful consortium.

National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine team emphasizes on the importance of synergy and inter-project cooperation under Tempus, Erasmus+: CBHE, Jean Monnet and Horizon 2020 Programmes, horizontal cooperation within own universities (between faculties, chairs etc.) provided the recommendations for ideal project preparation etc.

During the event, participants had the opportunity to receive answers to their questions, consult on current and future projects on CBHE and Jean Monnet.
